At Mission Arvada on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of each month. They help clients sign up for Medicaid and Food Stamps.
Community members are invited to put items in our Blessing Box to assist our homeless community. Food including pop top canned goods such as soup, baked beans, tuna and chicken, cups of fruit, apples, bananas, oranges, nuts, individual cereal boxes, peanut butter packets, trail mix, protein and breakfast bars, bottled drinks, and snacks...individual candy bars, chips etc. Hand warmers, beanies, gloves, socks, underwear, flashlights can be helpful.
A Christian based 12 step recovery program for anyone dealing with hurts, hangups and habits. Large group meeting on Thursday nights at 6:30pm. Men’s and Women’s step study groups on Wednesday evening at 6:30pm.
Works with the Mission Arvada Director and our clients to help assist clients into sustainable living situations. We work together to help client’s access appropriate housing options, fill out applications, collect necessary identification, secure housing, furnish and move clients into their new homes. Many needed supplies for our clients are also brought to Mission Arvada through our partnership with the City of Arvada.
During the hours our day shelter is operating, clients can have access to our clothing bank to get clean clothes, undergarments, and hygiene items. Clients are also able to get zero degree sleeping bags, tents, backpacks, blankets, tarps, coats, hats, and gloves when available. We take seasonally appropriate donations for men and women year around to help keep our supplies stocked for our clients.
Provides dental hygiene services, examination and referrals for clients to see outside Medicaid doctors for necessary dental work at Mission Arvada once a month by appointment.
Our food bank began over two decades ago. It was started by a longtime church member, Gloria M. Pruessner. Our food bank is open to all those in our community in need of food. We currently serve approximately 10,000 people each year and the number continues to grow. Food bank team leaders are Jill Knickerson, Julie Campanella-Arlt, and Trudy Ebersol. Current hours of operation are on Saturday from 9am-12pm.
We “rescue” food including produce, meat, dairy, bakery and some non perishables from a local grocery warehouse before it head’s to the Food Bank of the Rockies. It is brought to Mission Arvada by volunteer Rebel Rodriguez on Mondays and Fridays around 10:30am for disbursement to those in need of food.

We have mental health and crisis services available via our Zoom kiosk Monday through Friday on demand.
Attorneys provide free legal services the 2nd Thursday of the month at Mission Arvada by appointment. The Christian Legal Society of Metro Denver and the Justice and Mercy Legal Aid Clinic are partnering with The Rising Church to provide a Legal Triage Clinic in our Community.
Each Thursday our nurse, Valerie Delgado, provides medical services for wound care, treating sprains, dressing changes, oxygen and vital signs check, eye drainage check, and over the counter medications. We also communicate with Dr. Jon Eichhorn, our Medical Consultant, regarding more complex health issues.
Mission Arvada is a registration sight for the Severe Weather Shelter Network. We are currently registering clients each Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 12 noon. Once clients are registered, they are eligible to receive overnight sheltering on designated severe weather nights.
We offer showers first come, first served during our day shelter hours Monday through Thursday. We also have clean towels and hygiene products for showering.
