Our intention is to continue growing to assist and guide the growing number of homeless individuals in the Arvada community with our high-impact process. For the 2023 program cycle, we are exploring additional funding and fundraising opportunities to keep programs going.
We would like to develop an educational and preparation program for homeless persons who are about to receive housing. This program will assist them with financial planning, work skills, meal preparation, as well as prepare them for some of the psychological issues that result when they first move into their housing.
Additionally, our full-time case manager has been steadily assisting clients in securing stable housing. We have helped house 140 homeless individuals in the last two years and look forward to helping many more going forward. We are especially devoted to working with our clients who obtain housing and need continued support and wrap around services. Mission Arvada will continue to search for funding opportunities to finance our established programs through grant writing and fundraising, along with maintaining our long-term funding relationships with dedicated contributors.
Post COVID, our next vision is to extend Mission Arvada into the low income community in our area. The long term goal is to establish relationships with low income apartment complexes and mobile home parks. We would extend the services of Mission Arvada to the individuals in those communities (food, clothing and furnishing assistance, school supplies, mental health support, emergency rent or utility assistance, etc.). We would offer some work days to the apartment complex management and also hope to establish Bible Studies and a Christian witness to the residents including children’s weekly and summer programs.
We would also like to be a community force that advocates for solutions to homelessness including, but not limited to, affordable housing, increased resources for substance abuse rehabilitation, and more mandatory substance abuse and mental health treatment.
