Homelessness in Arvada has many faces.
It can seem, for many experiencing this problem, that they are the discards of society. Here, at Mission Arvada, though, we know that every person, whatever issues they're facing, is loved by God. We believe many need people to walk with them to either help them now or give guidance when they are ready.
The Rising Church is a hub of resources for people experiencing homelessness in Arvada. Our Day Shelter serves as somewhat of a triage center and ministry center for this at risk population in our city. Vets, people with developmental disabities, people with substance abuse issues, people with mental health issues as well as people just down on their luck, come our way daily. We seek to help these people find services, housing, clothing, food, bedding, showers. We also provide love and encouragement and give people a place to give back to their community. Open Monday-Friday from 9-1, we serve hot breakfast and lunch daily (at 9 & 11:30). Navigation consultations may be available from 1-3 Monday-Friday by appointment only.
We are not a wealthy church, and seek the support of the community to help us with this ministry.
How you can help:
The homeless need to be able to eat. They need to be able to stay warm and not freeze to death in the cold Colorado winters. The homeless need the community to stand in the gap for them. This is one of the reasons why The Rising Church ministers to the homeless that God has literally placed on our door step. We invite you to help us in this ministry.
