Life – Life Is A Gift
1. Life is created by God.
2. Life is precious
3. Honor life
4. Protect life.
5. Promote life.
Transition: Today I want us to start by realizing that life is a gift from God.
1. Life is a gift from God.
It’s not only a gift, it’s a priceless gift, because you can’t buy life. It’s can’t be manufactured. It’s
given to you.
In the book of Acts, when talking about Jesus, the Apostle Paul said, Acts 17:25 (NIV) – And he
is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything, because he himself gives all men life and
breath and everything else.
The life we have comes from God himself. It’s a gift and we should see it that way. So imagine
this gift given to you, handed you you. It’s a gift that’s full of potential, that has a limited amount
of earthly years associated with it and that itself has gifts and abilities associated with it.
Then each person is the same. We should see each person as having been given a gift of life
from God. Each person a being of potential.
Transition: Not only is life a gift, but it’s a very beautiful gift.
2. Your life is beautiful.
Psalm 139:14 (NIV) – I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works
are wonderful, I know that full well.
3. Your life matters.
Luke 19:5-7 (NIV) – When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said to him, “Zacchaeus,
come down immediately. I must stay at your house today.” So he came down at once and
welcomed him gladly. All the people saw this and began to mutter, “He has gone to be the guest
of a ‘sinner.'”
4. It matters what you do with your life.
Galatians 2:20 (NIV) – I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in
me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself
5. Gifts can be damaged.
6. Damaged lives can be restored.
Psalm 34:18 (NIV) – The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed
Romans 6:23 (NIV) – For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ
Jesus our Lord.
